Soap, Bath, and Apothecary Info

I’m a farm girl in rural Toney, Alabama, and I have goats, chickens, and a garden full of vegetables and herbs. I handmilk my dairy goats, collect fresh eggs by hand daily, and gather from the garden seasonally.

We drink the milk and eat the eggs, and I make soap with the excess. I grow vegetables and herbs for both food and herbal home remedies. My goal is to become as sustainable as we possibly can be, and I love to share the fruits of my labor with others.

I make soap in small batches and bath products as I have need or someone places an order. But I’m always working on new recipes. I keep herbs and flowers infusing in oils all year long, so when I need to make a salve or a lotion bar, I’ve got the ingredients ready to go. It’s all

Farmgrown. Handgathered. Heartmade.

Soap

Triple Butter Goat Milk
A creation from my own mind, this is my favorite soap recipe I’ve made yet. Three body butters leave skin feeling soft, while coconut oil makes for a clean rinse. • Coconut oil, olive oil, kokum butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, apricot kernel oil, castor oil, beeswax, goat milk, honey, sodium hydroxide

Henny Penny
Chicken eggs are the star in this working farm soap recipe. • Coconut oil, olive oil, ethically sourced palm oil, leaf lard, beeswax, chicken egg yolks, goat milk, sodium hydroxide •

Herbal Salves and Balms

Four-Herb Salve
My nephew affectionately calls this salve his “Kiki cream,” so that’s what we call it around here. Comfrey, plantain, calendula, and yarrow are infused in oil for several weeks, then blended with beeswax and body butters to create a multipurpose salve. I put it on my chickens’ combs and wattles in the winter months, and I most recently used it on the eye of one of my roosters who couldn’t open the eye due to some sort of injury/infection.

Jr. Kiki Cream
Calendula, lavender, and chamomile flowers infused in coconut oil and sweet almond oil for several weeks, and then are blended with beeswax and shea butter to create a balm perfect for kids.

Cracked Heel Balm
Calendula flowers, marshmallow root, and dried peppermint steeped in coconut oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil, and castor oil, and then mixed with beeswax, cocoa butter, and peppermint essential oil.

Breathe Balm
A blend of DōTERRA Breathe, eucalyptus, petitgrain, lime, and peppermint essential oils, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, olive oil, and beeswax.

Dry Hands Balm
Chickweed, chamomile, and lavender flowers steep in olive oil, sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil, and castor oil for several weeks, and are then blended with beeswax, mango butter, and lavender essential oil.

Arnica Salve
Arnica flowers infuse in coconut oil, olive oil, and sweet almond oil, and then blend with beeswax and shea.

Apothecary

Fire Cider
Jalapeños, red onion, turmeric, ginger, garlic, horseradish, thyme, rosemary, sage, and oregano infused in apple cider vinegar for several weeks.

We strive to support the local farms in our area, so if we can’t grow or make it ourselves, wherever possible, our products are locally sourced. We get our honey and beeswax from Meridianville, AL. The alfalfa hay we feed our goats comes from Boaz, AL. The leaf lard we use for soap is from Cullman, AL. We grow our own vegetables, herbs, and flowers for herbal salves and items in the apothecary. And of course, our goat milk and chicken eggs come from our very own farm, right here in Toney, AL.
